The 2023 tour of the iPhone series has already started in Pakistan, and many people who love Apple’s premium devices are excited to get their hands on the latest models. However, the question on everyone’s mind is how much will they have to pay for iPhone Tax in Pakistan 2023 on their purchase?

To begin with, it’s essential to understand that Pakistan has a complex taxation system. The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) is responsible for collecting taxes, including import taxes on various goods, including smartphones. Therefore, if you plan on buying an iPhone in Pakistan, you will have to pay import taxes as well as other local taxes on top of the device’s actual cost.

How iPhone Tax in Pakistan 2023 Will Be Calculated?

In 2023, the import taxes on smartphones, including iPhones, are expected to increase. Currently, the import tax rate on smartphones is 9.09%, but this is set to increase to 14.5%. Additionally, sales tax is levied on the total value of the device, which is currently set at 17%.

So, how much tax will you have to pay on an iPhone in Pakistan in 2023? Let’s take the example of the latest iPhone model, which is expected to cost around PKR 200,000. The import tax on the device would be around PKR 29,000 (14.5% of PKR 200,000), and the sales tax would be around PKR 34,000 (17% of PKR 200,000). Therefore, the total tax you would have to pay on an iPhone in Pakistan in 2023 would be approximately PKR 63,000.

It’s worth noting that the final tax amount may vary depending on several factors, including the device’s actual cost and other applicable taxes. Additionally, the Pakistani government may announce changes in tax rates or policies, which could impact the final tax amount.

In conclusion, if you plan on buying an iPhone in Pakistan in 2023, be prepared to pay a significant amount of tax on top of the device’s actual cost. While it may seem like a high amount, it’s important to remember that these taxes go towards funding essential public services and development projects in Pakistan and you can further compare these taxes to the 2022 iphone taxes. Additionally, you can save some money by purchasing from authorized dealers and taking advantage of promotions and discounts offered by Apple or other retailers.
